Summer Attractions

Bearskin Trail
A perfect place to bike or hike this summer, this trail is 18.2 miles of crushed red granite which starts in Minocqua and ends in Harshaw. Development and designated access points have been kept to a minimum to preserve aesthetic qualities the trail provides. The route winds through oak, maple and evergreen forests- which are home to eagles, osprey, deer, raccoons and other wildlife.

Escanaba-Pallette Lakes Trail
Located on state-owned land, this rolling and very scenic trail winds around several lakes and through a variety of timber types. This intermediate trail has a shelter and fire ring provided. Length: 4 loops ranging in length from 2, 4, 5.5 and 8.5 miles. Location: 7 miles south of Boulder Junction on Hwy M at Nebish Rd.

Fallison Lake
This is a beautiful, hilly trail, with a spectacular view of the Lake. Booklets on wildlife, flora and historical perspectives of the trail are available from the DNR Trout Lake Office and at the trail head from mid-May to mid-September as well as interpretive labels along the trail. Pets are NOT allowed on this trail. Length: Lops of .5, 1.0, 2.0 and 2.5 miles. Location: Across from Crystal Lake Campground on Hwy N, west of Sayner.

Holiday Acres Recreational Park

The park is located next door, within walking distance and is open daily. Discount coupons are available at front desk and must be presented for special offer. Guided trail rides commence on the hour, go-karts, mini-golf, and pony rides are also available. Reservations are accepted. Great family fun for all ages!

Lumberjack Trail
The trail is a very scenic trail along the edge of the Manitowish River, the Fishtrap flowage and White Sand Lake. The trail surface is grass, dirt, rocks, and sand. The effort is easy to moderate. Half of the trail winds through an area that was logged a few years ago. The rest of the trail is through old timber. Backpack camping is allowed, but requires a permit. Length: 3 loops ranging in length from 4, 6 and 12.5 miles. Location: There are two trailheads: one at "Old K" east from Boulder Junction to Concora Roads and one south from Boulder Junction on Hwy M and turn left on Hwy K about 5 miles, just past Nixon Lake Road.

Madeline Lake
This scenic trail winds around three lakes. A shelter with a fire ring is provided. Pets on leashes are allowed when there is no snow. Length: Various loops offer trails of 3.0, 3.5, 4.5. and 5.5. miles. Location: From Woodruff, take Hwy 47 east and turn on Townline Road. Parking between Townline and Rudolph Roads.

McNaughton Trail
Ten miles long with a natural-groomed surface, this trail has very few steep hills and winds around three lakes. A shelter with a fire ring is provided. Pets on leashes are allowed when there is no snow. Length: 4 loops ranging in length from 1, 3, 4 and 5.5 miles. Location: On Hwy 47 go south from Woodruff 13 miles. Turn right on Kildeer Road.

Minocqua Bats Waterski Club Shows
Free to public, the show is Sunday-Wednesday and Friday at 7 PM.

Pontoon Cruises

Provides a relaxing, informative cruise on the beautiful Minocqua Chain
of Lakes. There is a pick-up point near the hotel. Boarding passes, brochures, and reservations are available at the front desk. The cruise offers history, points of interest, and lots of wildlife. Many packages are available.

Powell Trail
This is an easy trail that passes Spring Pond and Sherman Lake. Perfect for beginners, half of the trail winds through an old logging area. Length: 4 loops ranging in length from 1.5, 2, 4.5 and 7 miles. Location: On Hwy 51 go southeast from Mercer 8 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 47 and drive until you get to Powell Road. Turn left onto Powell Road and go .5 miles.

Raven Trail
A mix of intermediate and expert loops, this trail winds through woods and near Inkpot and Clear Lakes. The nature loop has interpretive signs and benches. Pets are NOT allowed on the nature loop. Length: Loops vary from 1.5 , 3.5 and 5.0 miles. Location: From Woodruff, take Hwy 45 east to Woodruff Rd. and turn at the Raven sign.

Schlecht Lake Trail
The Schlecht Lake Ski Trail may be one of the area's best kept secrets, and it's right in The Waters of Minocqua's own backyard! With six miles, of well-maintained, relatively easy to moderately challenging the trail offer beautiful views of three different lakes. 10 km long Three km lit from dusk - 10 pm Leary Road, 1.5 miles south of Minocqua off Hwy 51.

Shannon Trail
The terrain is gently rolling with a variety of timber types. The loop around Shannon Lake is especially scenic with a mix of novice and intermediate loops, about half the trail runs through an old logging area. Pets on leashes are allowed. Length: Loops range from 2.3, 3.5 and 7 miles. Location: 2.5 miles northeast of St. Germain, off Cty Hwy G or off Found Lake Road.

The Northern Highland American Legion State Forest
Encompassing more than 220,000 acres in parts of Vilas, Oneida and Iron Counties. The area's rich land and water resources support many plants and animals, including rare and endangered species like the wood turtle, bald eagle and Cooper's hawk.

Timber Ridge is northern Wisconsin's premier public 18 hole championship course. One of Wisconsin's top 20 golf courses, Timber Ridge is only a few miles from the hotel. Special rates are available for hotel guests.

Town Public Beach
The beach, located in downtown Minocqua, offers concessions, lifeguards, grills, playground, and tennis courts.

Trampers Trails (and Star Lake Trail)
Various trails around Sayner/Star Lake area from .2 to 1.0 mile in length. The trail has a nature loop with signs along the way with part of the trail on a peninsula that juts out into Star Lake. There is a water pump and a beach half-way around the nature loop. Pets are not allowed on the trail. Length: Trampers varies from .2 to 1.0 mile while Star Lake has 2 loops, 1.0 and 2.5 miles. Location: On Hwy K between Hwys M and 45.

Trout Lake Golf Club

The oldest 18-hole facility in the Northwoods. Since 1924, the golf club has been a premier golfing destination. The clubhouse is an original 1800's logging home. The practice facility is the best in the area, hands down. Located just 10 miles North of Minocqua on Highway 51.
